Homemade Cranberry Sauce

Because that canned stuff is nowhere near as good! A lightly sweetened, tangy cranberry sauce perfect for your holiday dinner.

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Place over medium heat.
  2. Stir the mixture occasionally until it begins to bubble. Let it boil gently for a few minutes.
  3. Add the cranberries to the saucepan and stir frequently.
  4. As the cranberries heat up, drizzle a small amount of honey over them to enhance the sweetness. Adjust the amount of honey to taste.
  5. Continue stirring until the cranberries begin to pop. Mash the berries lightly with a spoon or spatula to help them break down. The mixture will thicken and become slightly foamy.
  6. Remove the saucepan from heat and pour the cranberry sauce into a heat-safe dish.
  7. Allow the sauce to cool slightly, then refrigerate for a few hours to set and enhance the flavors.
