Hi, my name is Michael Baker. I am a trained health and wellness professional who takes an integrative approach to both diet and lifestyle changes to improve my clients' life overall. My practice will assess your current nutrition intake, physical activity, time management, and habits before devising a custom-tailored approach designed to optimize your health.

As someone who has worked from home for over 25 years, and a father of two children, I understand what it’s like to struggle to balance a healthy life with professional and familial responsibilities. Over time, I’ve devised highly effective tactics that make it easier to maximize various elements of my daily life to keep everything in balance.

As a digital professional, I am always learning and evolving at warp speed. I spend a lot of time on the computer, fully connected to devices. The stress of this type of work can be overwhelming. But I love it! How is that possible? Well, I have developed healthy systems to detach digitally and re-claim the time stolen from commuting, digital frustrations, useless notifications, instant availability, and stressful online engagement.

With the advent of web3, VR, the Metaverse, and other more invasive forms of technology, it’s becoming more and more essential for people to have a reliable and effective method for disconnecting digitally.

As a parent reaching his 50s, my health has become a top priority in my life. Maybe it’s my version of a mid-life crisis. I don't want a Porsche. I want to retain full mobility, maintain muscle mass, lose fat, gain endurance, avoid chronic disease, and - most importantly - remain present, vibrant, and active.

My ideal client is someone over the age of 40 who knows that they can feel better but might not know how to get there. My ideal client has a genuine desire to commit to: Real change. Real education. Real physical movement. All of this is individualized and that’s why no pre-fabricated diet or exercise "program" works for anyone long-term. You have to really learn and understand nutrition, your body, and what you need as an individual to feel and look your best, forever!

Bridging the gap from inactivity and poor diet to strength and healthy habits

Hello, I’m Michael Baker. I am a 50-year-old strength trainer, certified personal trainer, running coach, health coach & yoga teacher. I'm also a former yoga studio owner, and dedicated health and wellness practitioner with over 30 years of experience. I began "Get Up Earlier" (GetUpEarlier.com) because getting up earlier was step 1 in transforming my routine and overall well-being, especially after spending years sitting at a computer as a digital professional. My primary goal is to bridge the gap from inactivity and poor diet to strength and healthy habits. I focus on helping people rely on intuition, providing a personal experience, and introducing them to weights, along with fundamental nutrition knowledge and concepts. While my own marathon training or strength achievements might seem extreme, I'm not trying to turn anyone into a bodybuilder or marathon runner.
