Join me on a 30 minute resistance training session where I train my wife: Age 45, 110lbs, 5’1″ with weighted exercises suited to introduce her to making a mind/body connection with her arm muscles, trying a deadlift for the 1st time and using bands to really isolate her biceps.

And despite what most women think, she did not turn into the incredible hulk, get oafy, bulky or hurt. Women go into weights so differently than men and typically gravitate to cardio, yoga and machines. The fact is you want to keep or strengthen your muscles, bones and body as you age to prevent and ward off frailty! Think about it like this: what can you do today to make sure you can carry your grandkids, groceries, open jars, stand up and sit down un assisted. It’s a weird way to think when you are in your 30’s, 40’s, 50’s and beyond.
